Lead from a State of Stillness!

The English dictionary defines stillness as the state of being calm, quiet, and free from movement or sound.  From a leadership perspective, stillness is that state whereas a leader you are grounded and connected to yourself. A place of vulnerability and a place of alignment. A place where you can sit quietly with discomfort and listen to yourself without feeling anxious, inadequate or insecure. A place where your centers of operations, being the mind, the soul and the body are aligned, and you are in control of your being.

It’s important that as a leader you cultivate stillness from within, so you stay connected to yourself and to people around them. When you are in that state, people follow you not because they have to, but because they feel safe around you and follow you willingly. Even if people are not sure where you are taking them, they will follow because they trust you enough.

Unfortunately, it’s not a place you bump into, it’s a place you cultivate by being intentional about working and growing yourself.  A state you cultivate by confronting yourself and holding yourself to account for the type of influence you have on your team
