Don’t Convince- Live With Conviction

Let me start with a confession: for the longest time, I tossed around the words convincing and conviction as though they were synonyms! But recently, during a deeply meaningful conversation, something shifted. It felt like a quiet eureka, a sudden clarity that these two words stand on opposite ends of the spectrum.

That moment sent me on a small personal quest. I wanted to understand conviction beyond the surface. My first discovery stopped me in my tracks: in Scripture, faith is described as “the conviction of things not seen.” That moved me. It made me realize that conviction is not about changing someone else’s mind- it is about anchoring my own. It is inward, rooted, authentic.

And that is the beauty of conviction. When I nurture a strong inner belief, when I genuinely know what I stand for, something remarkable happens. I no longer feel the need to push, explain, or persuade. Influence becomes natural. People can feel when you truly believe in something. Conviction builds trust long before words ever could.

So, as we walk into the festive season and close yet another chapter of our lives, I invite you to join me in choosing conviction over convincing. Let your actions and presence speak louder than your efforts to persuade. Stand firm in what you know to be true.
