Many times, we choose to wait until we feel certain and sometimes, we even want to see the evidence to be confident that something will work, before we can take the first step, think about it? Simon Sinek says, “It’s like waiting to be strong before you can start going to the gym.” Can that ever happen? Never! You must go to the gym to build those muscles and become strong.
How come when it comes to our desires and dreams we want to be certain and see the evidence before we can take the first step? Ever since I learnt that confidence doesn’t precede action, it follows it, my biasness towards action is on steroids. Come to think of it, the more you wait, the more your brain looks for evidence to support your doubt and fears and strengthens them, until you convince yourself that that thing will never work.
Join me on this journey and cultivate your confidence daily through action.
How about if you can ask that question at ‘that’ meeting today? What if you decide to confront that thing that has been scaring you the most?
It starts with that one shaky step, then another and before you know it, your confidence will compound and you will look back and wonder what you were on about all this time.
Remember, confidence is not born, it’s built, through action. Choose to invest in your confidence by consistently showing up, even if it looks like all odds are against you!
